WSU Organic Farm Tour

harvestJoin us as we tour the Washington State University Organic Farm with Farm Manager Brad Jaeckel. The 30 acre Eggert Family Organic Farm is located on Animal Sciences Road directly east of the main Pullman campus. Following the tour we will be lending our hands to help with some weeding and other tasks. The Organic Farm operates through the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. The Organic Farm was first certified organic in 2004 and remains certified by the Washington State Department of Agriculture.

As with all of our events you will need to register and pay online or contact us directly at will@homeschoolscience.org to pay with cash or check. Open to all ages. Adults and children ages 5 and under attend for free.

Feather and beak structure in this female red crossbill my 10 year old son and his friends found. My speculation is that crossbills give us insight into the world of beneficial mutations. This crossed beak provides them access to conifer cones. Red crossbills prefer pine, but do eat spruce and fir seeds as well. #crossbill #redcrossbill #loxia #therearebeneficialmutations
