If you are interested in serving as a representative of the Homeschool Institute of Science at select field trips please respond to this email. Reps attend trips for free and help us to cope with the blessing of growth that we are experiencing!
Two special informational meetings that will occur before our school year schedule starts:
FIRST LEGO League Informational Meeting, Tuesday, Sept. 2, 7:30 – 9:00 pm, Moscow Church of the Nazarene, East Wing. This meeting is for parents of 9-14 year olds. HIS, Inc. supported 3 FLL teams last year, all of whom qualified to the North Idaho Championship! We hope to add several new teams this year and provide opportunity for teams to work cooperatively throughout the season. More on FLL. This is a great opportunity to join an existing team or find others willing to start a new team!
FIRST Tech Challenge Informational Meeting, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Moscow Church of the Nazarene, East Wing. This meeting is for parents of 12-18 year olds and their children. As you may know, Logos School has supported a FTC team for the past two years. We hope to work cooperatively with parents and students involved in this program to launch 1-2 teams. More on FTC.
Also, our weekly Robotics Jam Session, Wednesdays, 10:00-12:00 noon at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene will continue during the school year. If you have your own robotics kit and laptop please bring it. More on weekly Robotics Jam Sessions.
We need your support
We have seen tremendous growth (in numbers of participants) over the last year. As a para-church ministry we have been blessed with prayers, facility, and financial support from a number of churches and individuals throughout the Inland Northwest and beyond. To be able to continue to offer the above programs we need substantial equipment support ($7000). If 70 families were able to support us for $100 each our need would be met. We would be happy to provide a line item budget outlining the specific equipment needs.
We greatly covet your prayers and ask for you to prayerfully consider financially supporting this ministry. The Lord has given us increasing opportunities to build up the saints as we take dominion over Science for His Glory and to pray for and love on non-believing homeschooling families in the Palouse. The Homeschool Institute of Science is a tax-exempt non-profit with no paid staff currently. Gifts can be made online here or checks can be mailed to: HIS, Inc., PO Box 8605, Moscow, ID 83843.
