There are certain creatures that serve as exceptional teachers. This is readily apparent in the field of genetics and now genomics. The garden pea, the fruit fly, the pigeon, E. coli, and bacteriophages to name a few.

We have been spending a lot of time on the garden pea in the biology class I am teaching. Today I introduced pigeon genetics via Pigeonetics.

The music and animation are fun and the narrated simulation is very well designed. It seems to work best on Internet Explorer. A great resource to spice up your biology course.
