Sir Lancelet and the Sea Squire

This hilarious idea originated, as many others have, from a particular section of Biology students that I teach. They are a creative and fun bunch. Other fun memes have included the Overdressed stuffed shirt lobsters and the Sketchy Nematodes.

The lancelet, Phylum Cephalochordata, is a fish-like creature that burrows into the sand of shallow warm tropical waters and filter feeds plankton by leaving its mouthparts exposed above the sand.
