This Morning In Creation

5.26.19
Elegant cats ear, Calochortus elegans

This morning in Creation we visited a county park here in the Pacific Northwest. After several days of spring rain the meadows and forest understory gleamed in the morning light. Flowering chokecherries, nine-bark, lupine leaves, and solomon’s seal are a few of the Lord’s gifts on this morning’s walk. There were aIso towhees trilling, beaks full of caterpillars. An inchworm briefly invaded my binoculars. My chest thumped with the drumming of the ruffed grouse.

“Let every creature rise and bring peculiar honors to our king; Angels descend with songs again, and earth repeat the loud Amen.”

I hope you enjoy this short jaunt. Time to refill the coffee. See you tomorrow.

A site I recently found for identifying PNW wildflowers
