A student recently sent me a photo of a Mediterranean house gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus) that his brother found in their region of rural Georgia. According to several state invasive species programs this amazing beast has become well established across the south.
More on this species from Texas and the Savannah River Ecological Laboratory whose original range looked like this below. Their populations in the US extend at least as far as Virginia.
