Learning in Community

familyOur home has become robotics central this season. We started doing FIRST LEGO League last year. Now we’ve added a FIRST Tech Challenge team to the mix. It is a wild ride and the real blessings are starting to reveal themselves. We’re part of a community of dedicated homeschoolers willing to take on something that is open-ended and relatively unknown. It’s turned into a potluck and a part of our real life (in real life -my sweet wife’s favorite saying :))

Last week I had to run the four year old to the emergency room (his second or third visit). Our fellow home roboticists prayed and stayed and fed my family.

I think this has been my biggest hope and concern about this big old messy homeschooling adventure. I knew I wanted community to be a major part of my children’s life and learning. My concern was not knowing what in the world this would look like or how it would happen. God provides . . . always.

Amen.

We've noticed what seems to be an early emergence of a variety of insects this spring including butterflies, assorted beetles, and even dragonflies. Hotter than normal early May temps brought early and short lived blooms as well. #butterfly
