The goose and the barnacles

The history of taxonomy, of naming and categorizing species, has not always been a scientific effort. In fact, it is full of many wondrous, magical, and ridiculous speculations. This was the age of the herbal and the bestiary and sometimes of both. Thank you Gerard!
